The official Purdue ice cream, Boiler Chips, has quickly become a fan favorite since its release in early September. In this episode, Dr. Ken Foster and Shelby Whitaker sat down with two of its creators, Allison Kingery and Teresa King, to get the behind-the-scenes scoop on how this sweet treat came to be.
Allison Kingery is the Managing Director of Food Entrepreneurship and Manufacturing Institute (FEMI), and oversees Skidmore Product Development Laboratory, the certified commercial kitchen located within Nelson Hall of Food Science.
Teresa King is a current junior majoring in food science, she is involved in Food Science Club and Food Science Envoys, and also helped to work on the creation of Boiler Chips.

This week, Dr. Valerie Kilders and Courtney Rodkey are joined by one of Purdue Agriculture's 2023 Distinguished Ag Alumni. Dr. Paul Patterson! Paul discusses his career path after graduating from Purdue and provides advice to current students.
Dr. Paul Patterson is currently serving as the Dean of the College of Agriculture at Auburn University and the Director of the Alabama Agricultural Experiment Station. He earned his M.S. and Ph.D. from the Department of Agricultural Economics at Purdue University in 1987 and 1994, respectively.

Shelby Swain Myers, Purdue Ag Econ alum and Grain Market Intelligence Director at Ever.Ag Insights, has been named a Rising Professional for 2023. On today's episode, Shelby shares her career path, provides insights into Purdue's Rising Professional Program, and gives advice to current students. Hosted by Dr. Valerie Kilders, Abby Meier, and Courtney Rodkey.
Shelby Swain Meyers earned her B.S. and M.S. in Agricultural Economics from Purdue University, with a research emphasis on agriculture policy and a thesis analyzing the Farm Bill. While at Purdue, she was a member of Sigma Kappa Sorority, was a College of Agriculture Ag Ambassador, and was part of the Ag Student Council. Additionally, Shelby served as a Purdue Foundation Student Board member, Purdue Gimlet’s Greek Leadership Honorary member, a College of Agriculture Issues 360 Pilot Class Fellow, and a Purdue Department of Agricultural Economics Envoy.
